Corporate mobility increasingly relies on long-term rental as its main formula and a market, that of fleets, that is increasingly sustainable and connected. The Corporate Fleet Barometer 2023, Arval Mobility Observatory’s survey that analyzes and forecasts trends in the world of mobility and fleets, confirms the scenario that has already emerged in recent years.
\nAlthough elements of instability in the sector persist, 95 per cent of the companies involved in the survey express a high degree of confidence regarding the future of their corporate fleet. This growth is motivated by several key factors. First, many companies are expanding their operations and introducing initiatives that require the acquisition of new company vehicles. Next, corporate fleets are taking on a more versatile role, serving not only as a response to employee mobility needs but also becoming an essential element in the concept of “mobility welfare.” Finally, there is an obvious economic benefit: offering a company car is equivalent to offering employees a tax-advantaged increase in their compensation package.<\/p>\n
Green fuels and connectivity<\/strong><\/p>\n Companies’ biggest challenges today are adapting to restrictive policies regarding diesel and gasoline vehicles, pushing on electrified fuels, and raising their employees’ awareness of more responsible driving. Eighty-two per cent of the companies surveyed have already introduced, or are planning to introduce, alternative fuels in their fleets. By 2023, electric is up +68%, plug-in hybrid is up 46%, and traditional hybrid is up 14%. Then 42% of companies say they have their vehicles connected through telematics devices to achieve greater safety, efficiency and resource optimization. This is also a clear path from Viasat (now part of Targa Telematics), which has been working with many rental companies for years, offering them advanced solutions and telematics services.
