At the end of August, Milan’s Local Police began using the Eagle Eye tool, a technological device which, when connected to the database of the Italian Motor Vehicle Authority, makes it possible to know in real-time whether a vehicle is in order. The technological partner of the initiative, through ATM Milano, is Viasat, already a supplier of Street Control, a consolidated control tool used by the Police Force in many Italian municipalities.
The Eagle Eye service will make it possible to check “in real-time” the insurance coverage, the revision or the theft of vehicles in transit or parking. Thanks to the use of cameras with dual optics, infrared and colour, it is possible to capture up to 100 licence plates per second, day or night.
