A new paradigmfor insurance telematics

The rise of new technologies is changing various aspects of our lives. From this point of view, the insurance sector represents no exception. In fact, companies are becoming aware that they can’t remain spectators of the progress underway if their intention is to maintain a central role in the world of mobility. To play a leading role, they will have to adopt innovative and specific solutions to maintain customers’ data management and control.

In this sense, it becomes essential to rely on increasingly vehicle-connected technologies, easy to use, tailor-made and quick to install, so as to preserve autonomy and greater competitiveness compared to top automotive supply chain players who manage the first installation connectivity. From this point of view, insurance telematics is finally emerging from a prolonged hibernation, depending on a state of constant expectation with regard to possible market developments that could have significantly changed the economic and operational context with consequent risks, but also opportunities.

Time has in fact gradually returned to all operators a more disenchanted vision, which has brought out a way more complex and articulated reality in which the satellite device is no longer seen as a simple commodity, but as a starting enabling element giving the chance of creating distinctive and high added value services.

This is a context that brings the Telematics Service Provider back to perform a decisive function.
