The Client contacted the Viasat Operations Center on 24 September last to notify the theft of his vehicle, a Fiat 1, parked an hour and a half beforehand. The Operator located the vehicle immediately in Bari, in Stradetta del Chiancone, and contacted the Police, directing them to the place indicated. Initially, the Police were unable to locate the vehicle but, at the insistence of the Operator, continued their search and found the vehicle inside a shed.
In Puglia, car thefts are a frequent phenomenon.
According to the 2014 Security Guide no less than 15,291 vehicles were stolen from their legitimate owners, thus ranking the Region, for this crime, immediately after Campania, Lazio, Sicilia and Lombardia.
